Privacy at a glance

  • Who we are: Shift Pride (shiftpride.com), operated by Shiftpride, 311 Florida Street, Knoxville, TN 37915, United States.
  • What we collect: what you give us to buy and ship an order, what you write to support, and basic technical data about how the site is used.
  • Why: to make, ship and support your order, to keep the store secure, and to meet legal duties.
  • We never sell your personal information, and we never see or store your full card number.
  • Your choices: access, correct, delete or export your data, and opt out of marketing, by emailing [email protected].

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Shift Pride collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit shiftpride.com, place an order, create an account, or contact our support team. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Shiftpride, the business that operates the Shift Pride store. “You” means any visitor or customer.

We sell print-on-demand apparel and gifts for working people: tees, hoodies, sweatshirts and mugs for nurses, teachers, first responders, tradespeople, drivers, chefs, office crews and anyone celebrating a career milestone. To make and deliver those items we need some personal information, and we think you deserve a clear explanation of what happens to it. This policy is written to be read, not just accepted.

This policy applies to information we handle as a store. It does not cover websites or services run by others that we link to, such as carrier tracking pages or payment provider pages. Those services have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Order details: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number if you choose to give it, the items you ordered and any notes you add.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your email, a password (stored only in hashed form) and saved addresses.
  • Support messages: the content of emails and tickets you send, including photos of damaged or misprinted items.
  • Crew order details: if you order for a group, the names or sizes you choose to share with us. Please share only what is needed to fulfil the order.

2.2 Payment information

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider shown at checkout. Your full card number, expiry date and security code are entered on the provider’s secure systems and are not stored by Shift Pride. We receive limited information from the provider, such as the payment status, the amount, the last four digits of a card or the payment method type, and fraud-screening signals, so we can match payments to orders and handle refunds.

2.3 Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, referring page and the pages you view, collected through server logs and essential cookies.
  • Cart and session data: cookies that remember what is in your cart and keep you logged in.
  • Security data: information used to detect bots, fraud and abuse, including data processed by our content delivery and security provider when pages are delivered to you.

2.4 Information from others

Carriers send us delivery status updates for your parcel. Payment providers send us payment confirmations and fraud checks. If someone orders a gift for you, they give us your name and address so we can deliver it.

3. How we use your information

Purposes and legal bases for processing
Purpose Examples Legal basis (where required)
Fulfil your order Send your design to production, print, pack, ship, email confirmations and tracking Performance of a contract
Customer support Answer questions, handle returns, exchanges, refunds and claims Performance of a contract; legitimate interests
Payments and fraud prevention Match payments to orders, process refunds, block fraudulent orders Legitimate interests; legal obligation

We do not use your personal information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, other than standard fraud screening by our payment provider. If an order is held because of a fraud check, a person on our team reviews it.

4. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the store, and only what each one needs:

  • Print and fulfilment partners receive the items, your name and shipping address so they can make and ship your order.
  • Carriers and postal services receive your name, address and sometimes your email or phone number for delivery notifications.
  • Payment providers process your payment and refunds.
  • Hosting, security and email providers host the website, protect it from attacks, deliver pages quickly and send transactional emails.
  • Professional advisers and authorities when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. If the business is ever sold or merged, customer information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections described here, and we will tell you before that happens.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies that the store needs to function: a cart cookie, a session cookie, a login cookie if you have an account, and security cookies that help block bots. These do not require consent in most places because the site cannot work without them. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If we add analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.

6. How long we keep information

  • Order and transaction records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally up to 7 years.
  • Support messages and claim photos: up to 3 years after the last message, so we can help if the same issue comes back.
  • Account data: until you close your account, then removed except for records we must keep by law.
  • Server logs and security data: usually up to 90 days, longer only when needed to investigate abuse.
  • Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe, plus a record of the opt-out so we do not email you again.

7. How we protect information

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Access to order data is limited to the people and providers who need it. Payment card details stay with the payment provider. No system is perfectly secure, so we also ask you to use a unique password for your account and to contact us immediately if you notice anything unusual. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

We will never ask you for your password, your full card number or your card security code by email, phone or chat. Any message that does is not from us.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • object to or restrict certain uses, such as marketing;
  • withdraw consent you gave earlier, without affecting earlier processing;
  • not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”. We will verify your identity, usually by confirming details of a past order sent from your email address, and respond within the time the law requires, normally 30 days or less. You may use an authorised agent where your local law allows; we will ask for proof of authorisation.

8.1 United States residents

Residents of states with consumer privacy laws, such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Tennessee, may have the rights described above. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect. We do not knowingly process sensitive personal information for purposes that require an opt-in.

8.2 Canada

We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws. You may ask to access or correct your information and may withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual limits.

8.3 Australia and New Zealand

We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

9. International transfers

Shift Pride is based in the United States and our main service providers operate there. If you order from Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. We use providers that apply appropriate safeguards and only transfer what is needed to fulfil your order.

10. Children

Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Parents may buy youth or gift items, but the order should be placed by an adult. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails if you opt in, for example by ticking a box at checkout when that option is shown. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. Order confirmations, shipping notices and replies to your support requests are transactional and are sent even if you have not opted in to marketing, because they are part of fulfilling your order.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.

13. Contact us about privacy
